Drinktropolis is a free monthly food and drink newspaper coming to Hawaii in September and hopefully a tv series as well. We're 2 restaurants short for our Food Network pilot and since we're seeking advertising for our debut issue I thought I'd combine the two needs. If you take out a full page ad ($750) for our September issue we'll shoot a half hour video on your restaurant and chef (which you can keep for your site) and use parts of it in our pilot and also our online talk show, we'll also give you 12 months of quarter page size ads and promote you online for 12 months. Another deal we're running if that one doesn't interest you is 4 months of half page ads for just $150 (includes the internet). Our target circulation is 120,000 and a free paper about cocktails and food is really the perfect place for a restaurant to reach diners. www.drinktropolis.comwww.drinktropolis.com/ads.htm

123 Wok is my go-to place for Chinese Fried Rice when I don't want to make any on my own. While their delivery service is really fast the food is meh. However if you are just looking for something to accompany a few beers while you get your Netflix on on a Friday night this place is exactly what you are looking for.

The beef lo mein is the only real edible thing here. The white rice is soggy and always tastes like soap. The ONLY reason we still go here on occasion is it's across the street, so easy location. The food is plentiful and fairly cheap, but that's about it.My theory is they have too many choices: American, Hawaiian, and Chinese. If they stuck with one it might not be too bad.

I ordered one of the lunch specials that came with roast pork, chicken karaage, noodles, and soup. The soup and noodles were of the average chinese/american fare. The chicken however was exceptionally well done ( as in tasty good, not overcooked). The outside had a perfect crust to it and not overwhelmingly sweet. The chicken itself was tender and downright delicious. So by now you are probably wondering why I gave it a 1 star. Well lets just say that I got real friendly with my friend Mr. Kohler (its a toilet). I know what I ate exactly that gave me that food poisoning, and it was the roast pork. The roast pork was horribly dry and tasted like they literally left it in the fridge for weeks (and half microwaved it) before they decided to serve it. Just looking at it, I knew it was gonna be horrible, but stupid me said to try at least one piece. Well I did, and sure ended up paying for it. The fact that the cooks decided to serve something that visibly looks unsafe to eat gets a 1 star for me.

Pretty much the best (Americanized) Chinese food you'll find. Probably not authentic in the slightest, but if you're looking for stereotypical (in the best way) Chinese food, this is the place to go. High quality meats, delicious sauces, this is the best you'll find in Hawaii and the only place that I've found that doesn't use the panda cafe-ish "mystery meat".

This place is the bomb! I used to think L & L gave big portions, but this place owns! For $5.05, the mini plates are huge! The chicken katsu is perfectly fried. The fried chicken thighs look like they're from a chicken on steroids. Besides the local style plate lunches, I came here for dinner one evening and had some Chinese food, after all that's what they are. The portions were descent and the variety of Chinese food we ordered were pretty tasty! Pricing can't be beat, either. I'm sold on this place!

I wish I had read the reviews before i ordered from here.. I ordered for delivery and a chinese lady answered, was very rude and i could hardly understand her. I proceeded with my order for the seafood combo and steak plate. I asked the steak to be medium rare. She said ok, you pay cash? I said no, i will use my card. She got all upset and said "next time you use card you tell me, i no ask you.." i said what, and then she repeated it again. I was like OK, you're flier says "please provide credit card for delivery orders". She then repeated my phone number from the caller ID and i said yes that it my number and the driver has to call me becasue he cant get in.. but before i even finished she hung up! So my food came about 45 min which was fine with me. I tasted the bbq chicken and mac salad which was ok, but the shrimp and the steak.. omg! The steak was so hard, overdone, and pretty much drenched with garlic salt.. I couldve thrown that steak at a glass window and the glass would've shattered. I used my own steak knife since the plastic one would obviously break, and I still had a hard time cutting through it. The shrimp was overdone hard as rock, all batter, hardly any shrimp. One review said the owner is the one who answers the phone and if that is true, she is a horrible business owner.. bad food and more importantly, bad customer service! I hope she does see all the reviews here, or one of her employees because she is clueless! The only reason why I gave 1 star is because of the delivery driver, very polite and courteous.

Nutshell:Pros= Fast delivery. Big portions. Certain menu items are yummy. One of few chinese delivery places. Cheap-ish. Lots of choices.Cons= Make sure to enunciate when giving address and repeat. Certain food items are not yummy. That said....Phone lady is chinese. Chinese people are to the point, so it may come off as rude ( guess I'm used to it, being my mothers side is from China.)Food came within 35 min. (Poor delivery boy, who was apologetic and polite, got lost because phone lady got my address wrong after multiple repeats.)I got the:Egg flower soup--Kind of Bland. But nothing some salt and chinese pepper couldn't fix :)Eggplant with chicken--This was really good. Oily but good.House special fried rice--Rice/chicken seemed old. Not very tasty. It works, being a chinese delivery joint. I'd try it again if I'm ever feeling lazy and in the mood for chinese food.

Environment: 2/5Employees: 5/5Food: 5/5Cost: 5/5Parking: 2/5Total: 19/25Synopsis: My friend Kevin doesn't get out much, but he insisted that we try this new Chinese restaurant that took over Papa Johns in town for dinner. I reluctantly said, "Yes" because there are so many other places that are delicious, that he hasn't tried. When you get in, it looks like more of a diner with Chinese signs. The hot pot selections they had were very limited compared to Sweet Home Café, worse it looked OLD! I literally pointed with a nastaaaayyyy look on my face to say, "Kevin...would you eat THAT!?" I thought this was going to foreshadow horror, but to my amazement the dishes I decided was DELICIOUS! Yum! Oddly enough, I would come back here a second time. What was difficult was the parking, due to the limited spacing, but the people were friendly and the cost compared to the amount of food you are offered is TOP reason to come here.Environment: It has a diner look to it, where you would anticipate burgers and fries. This is only if you didn't know any better. If you look at the walls carefully, you will see Chinese art, the white cat for wealth, and of course the round tables. The booths are comfortable to sit on, making it an easy environment to relax.Employees: Nothing noteworthy. They were nice.Food: The portion sizes were ridiculously huge compared to the cost. The food was also displayed on nicely designed plates. :D Awesome! I would recommend not coming here for the hot pot portion! Although I haven't tried it, it is very unsightly.Gaugee: For about $5, we got about 10 pieces. It was typical like any other places, crispy on the outside, delicious meat on the inside. Please dip with sweet and sour sauce! YUM! 5/5Combo plate which included Beef with mixed vegetables, fried chicken, fried pork:1) Beef w/vegetables: Filled with flavor from the sauce was awesome. The vibrant colors from the various vegetables and fungus: snow peas, shitaki mushroom, bamboo, carrots mixed in with the beef. UGH! Delicious! 5/52) Fried chicken: The batter was perfectly done and super crispy. YUM! 5/53) Fried Pork: You cannot screw this up. Chips of fat with meaty/fatty middle pieces. YUM-factor 5/5Walnut Shrimp: I have honestly tasted better in other restaurants. Though it was good, the taste does not override the amount of calories in this dish. 4/5Cost: For everything, it was very cheap for the both of us and it provided extra food. In fact, it lasted for two more meals after this. I do believe, plus tip, it came out to be 20 bucks. It was more food than I had imagined. Luckily for me, sugar daddy paid. "Since you will be poor when you go to college." Big hearts to you.Parking: The space in the area for parking is atrociously small. What furthers the horror of it all is the fact that the limited space is shared between other establishments. I can only imagine the irritation this place can create to deter patrons from coming here.

Having delivery is awesome! I really missed having Chinese delivery in the mainland. But I feel like the lady who took my order was short tempered. She told order more and more till my order reach almost 20? I was guessing that the minimum for delivery not piffed. So I waited got my food faster than pizza hut. The fried rice was great. The double BBQ burger was huge! From my cheekbones to the bottom of my jaw. Saimin was okay. Gyoza was interesting more ginger taste than pork. Wanted to try maybe a hot and sour soup next time. I would recommended this place because its affordable and if you can't spare time to cook. But its not amazing so don't get your hopes way up.

Going down hill. This has gone from my favorite local delivery, to a bad encounter with angry old Chinese woman and food that could have been made by a 4 year old with a working microwave. The last order of general tsos I got was a thing of fried chicken in one container and some pre-made sauce in a whole different container. It wasnt even prepared as one dish. I might as well have gotten a 20 piece mcnugget and dipped it in some hoisen sauce.Lastly, (I see Evan's review states the same problem) the lady who answers the phone now is rude, quick to hang up, and gets mad if you use your credit card. Don't advertise you accept master and visa if you have an issue. I'll need to be in a severe, desperate, borderline comatose craving before ordering from here anymore. It's been two bad experiences in a row. What the heck happened to this place? Just a couple months apparently makes a world of difference I guess.

When we first walked into the restaurant, well not really walked in but saw from outside, there was nobody inside!! That was a little suspicious.Well we went inside anyways and I ordered the all you can eat shabu-shabu. Considering its about $20, you would probably pay that price if you were to go to any shabu shabu place.I got the healthy broth. It did taste very healthy. If you like those Chinese herbs and spices, this one is for you. Be careful though because its bitter if you bite into one of the spices. I began by ordering 2 meats. One pork and one beef. She looked a little shocked that I would order 2. But complied with my order anyways.I then went into the refrigerator and took my seafood and vegetables. I am not sure if it was because it was 7pm at night or if the vegetables and seafood were just old. Ah, they are all gonna get boiled anyway. I am sure it will be fine.Anyways, I cooked all my food and it tasted just as good as I would have gotten at other shabu shabu places. Well minus the healthy broth that added too much of spice herb taste.PS. There was some dine in entertainment when the delivery boy and the cook were yelling at each other in the back .

A bunch of us tried the all-you-can-eat hot pot here, which was decent but significantly lower quality than "other places" nearby. Lamb was good, beef was sketchy (totally unnatural shade of red), loved that they offer seafood options, but the folks I was dining with are seafood-averse. Boo.Don't be put off by the interior design, which is kind of sad at best...but at least it was clean & brightly lit. There's only one lady handling front-of-the-house operations, and she speaks very broken & accented English, unusually difficult to understand her. Also very brusk in her speech & behavior, but it's just your average Chinatown-kine Chinese lady attitude; I didn't think she was rude at all.The biggest surprise & crowd pleaser of the evening was the one person in our party who ordered a regular entree: combination BBQ chicken & chicken katsu. It was a HUGE mound of meat, perectly tasty & practically no fat, with a nice (light & crispy) breading on the katsu. It was only $7 or $8, which was a bargain, considering the quality & quantity!!

Called in a pickup order and the food was surprisingly delicious. We had the chicken cake noodle, shrimp with snow peas and ginger onion fish and they threw in a free order of mochiko chicken! Definitely returning here soon

Made a take out order. Mentioned the Sunday paper to the lady - big write up of their lunch special. She asked if we wanted lunch special or full order. We ordered full order not knowing the difference, while waiting for our order, I tried to change the order to their lunch special but she said next time - cook making full order already. I thought she was going to change it to their lunch special but she didn't - she said next time. Their will be no next time - no customer satisfaction. We had our two orders of the dinner portion with no rice. Nothing spectacular in taste after driving all the way from Pearl City to McCully.

Yes, I work across the street to these guys. Went there when they opened, and they were all clueless, they need to get their act together. The gal in the front tries hard, but looks like she's never worked in the front cashier before. Wrong prices charged, bad organization. Their food is just average at most........if you can get it.

Amazing that you went to the expense of sending your menu to 572 owners of Marco Polo condo, 10 blocks away and you are totally unable to provide the service you advertise....delivery in 1 hour and 1 1/2 hour later, you are clueless as to the status.I will suggest to the Board of Directors that they warn all owners that you do not deliver to the building in a timely manner.Too bad, your menu looked really good.

I wonder if 123wok is owned by the same people who run California Wok, opened 2000 at Ala Moana Center? Names, menus and prices are all very similar.
